Decompress and Restore
Move with awareness to reduce tension and restore balance
Service Description
This class is designed to help you slow down, reconnect with your body, and move in a way that reduces tension and restores balance. We’ll begin with simple breathwork and grounding techniques to help settle your nervous system and bring your attention into the present moment. From there, you’ll be guided through gentle, intentional movements that counter the postures and patterns we repeat in daily life—like sitting, standing, and screen use. All movements are done slowly and with awareness, allowing you to notice sensation without rushing to change it. This process helps retrain your body’s response to discomfort, building tolerance and reducing the “alarm” signals that can arise when you move outside your usual range. Throughout the class, you’ll explore how different parts of the body relate to one another—for example, how tight hip flexors can contribute to low back discomfort. Rather than forcing stretches, you’ll learn to work with your body, using breath and positioning to create space and reduce compression in your joints. This is a guided, but self-led experience. Hands-on adjustments may be offered but should not be expected, the focus will be on developing your own awareness and ability to make informed movement decisions. You can expect a mix of stillness and movement, with time to observe and witness your thoughts, sensations, patterns, and histories. In this class, you will: 1. Learn breathwork to support relaxation and reduce tension 2. Practice grounding and present-moment awareness 3. Explore gentle, full-body stretches to counter everyday movements 4. Learn basic foam rolling techniques 5. Improve awareness of muscle imbalances and joint positioning 6. Begin to move with more ease, clarity, and confidence You’ll leave with practical tools you can use in your daily life, and a deeper connection to how your body feels and functions.
